Wedding Weekend Number 2

March 24, 2006

Ok it’s been a while as I was procrastionating a little.

Last weekend was the turn of R’s family to get hitched. His cousin to be more precise. The wedding was at Burntisland Catholic Church and then reception at

It was a good location. The drinks reception included champagne and a cocktail bar, the food was yum. Speeches were particularly good. Very witty, short and lovely. I really enjoyed myself. R and I blagged the “bridal suite” as G and N were staying in the city – room was not as nice as the food. I think it wants to be a boutique type hotel but doesn’t quite make it. Still really lovely – excellent view of the bridge from the room see

for details! Sooooo very nice to wake up slightly worse for wear in a lovely comfy room though :-D

Good stuff.

Wedding Weekend Number 1

March 15, 2006

Lovely weekend! Saturday Jon and Lyndsey got married at the Thainstone House Hotel in Inverurie. The venue was excellent. Lovely and helpful staff, excellent food and good fun had by all. Was worried it might be either a bit too much for R meeting ALL the family and spending a lot of time with them or – that it might be a bit dull. It don’t think it was either.

Sunday driving home was quite a long trip but the views from the snow were beautiful and we were lucky to not get stuck in the weather unlike M and L!

Mum, Dad and my bro are home now – they had a good time and it really was lovely to see the whole family together. It’s the first wedding of our generation too – the last wedding for the family was my mum and dad’s!
This weekend R’s cousin is getting married. My turn to spend time with the family now! :-D

Family visits

March 10, 2006

Mum, Dad and Richard are up this weeked for my cousin’s wedding. Last night we had “righteous” mac and cheese at C&F’s place and then my little bro came to stay over. Pretty cool although the confusions between Richard, Richard and Richard are already starting. I have decided that instead of distinguishing between the possible three to address all of them when speaking to save energy. For example “How are you Rich? elicited two replies last night and neither knew who I was talking too. Decided both would be the better answer than favouring one. It could be a an interesting weekend…

Cooking more food for pals

March 6, 2006

After mind numbing and stressful day in work, invited D&H to dinner on the spur of the moment. Cooked the below BBC chilli con carne which came out YUM. If I do say so myself. Felt a little sceptical about the coriander and cinnamon being added (hate coriander and thought cinnamon a bit weird). But was all good. Although I feel a bit full now!

R is now cooking rock cakes continuing the cooking theme of the evening :-)
